The Passports Department on Sunday arrested 70 Turks and Egyptians who had overstayed their Umrah visa in the Kingdom. Col. Ayed Al-Loqmani, head of the department in Makkah, said the overstayers, were staying in a Makkah house rented out by four Burmese nationals. He said the detentions came during a campaign that started two weeks ago and has so far resulted in the arrest of 1,241 illegal aliens. Al-Loqmani said that many individuals come here with valid Umrah visas and violate the terms of their visas by staying with the intention of performing Haj, complicating the estimation of pilgrim numbers and the organization of Haj. – Okaz/SG __
