New York's Chris Drury got a hat trick as the Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning for the third time in this NHL season, winning 5-2 on Thursday. The Lightning got within a goal in the third period, but the Rangers made it 4-2 soon after and Drury capped the scoring with his fifth goal of the season with 27 seconds left. Tampa Bay lost twice to New York during the season-opening series in the Czech Republic. Sharks 5, Blues 4, SO: In San Jose, California, Ryane Clowe followed up his two tying goals in the third period by scoring the shootout winner as NHL-leading San Jose edged St. Louis. San Jose improved to 8-0 at the Shark Tank with a remarkable rally led by Clowe, who twice answered go-ahead goals by the Blues in the final period, including a goal during 4-on-4 play with 1:39 left. The Blues lost for the sixth time in seven games despite never trailing in regulation time. Bruins 5, Maple Leafs 2: In Boston, Blake Wheeler had his first three-goal game in the NHL, leading Boston over Toronto. The Bruins notched their fifth win in six games while the Maple Leafs have lost three straight. Capitals 3, Hurricanes 2: In Washington, Alexander Semin scored twice in the final 3 minutes, getting the winner with 10 seconds left, to rally Washington over Carolina. The Capitals trailed 2-1 before Semin scored from close range with 2:43 to go. Then, with time running out, he fired a wrist shot for the winner from inside the right circle. Semin has 10 goals in 12 games. Washington is 10-0-1 in its past 11 regular-season home games dating to last season. Flames 7, Predators 6: In Calgary, Alberta, Jarome Iginla had two power-play goals and Craig Conroy also scored twice to help Calgary take a four-goal lead, but the Flames only just hung on to edge Nashville. The Predators scored a penalty shot with three minutes remaining and cut the deficit to one goal with 20 seconds left. Penguins 5, Oilers 4: In Pittsburgh, Miroslav Satan and Petr Sykora each scored twice as Pittsburgh downed Edmonton. NHL scoring leader Evgeni Malkin set up three goals in the second period for the Penguins, who led 5-0 before seeing their advantage eroded. Wild 3, Avalanche 1: In Denver, Niklas Backstrom made 35 saves to secure Minnesota's win over Colorado. Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Benoit Pouliot and Andrew Brunette scored goals for Minnesota. The Avalanche have lost five straight. Canucks 1, Coyotes 0: In Vancouver, British Columbia, Kevin Bieksa scored 12 minutes into the game for what proved Vancouver's winner over Phoenix. Roberto Luongo made 28 saves for his second straight shutout for Vancouver. Luongo has three shutouts in five games and leads the NHL with four overall. Senators 4, Flyers 1: In Ottawa, Dany Heatley scored for the fifth straight game as Ottawa beat Philadelphia. Thrashers 4, Islanders 3: In Atlanta, Slava Kozlov scored twice to set up Atlanta's win over New York. Tobias Enstrom scored Atlanta's winner with 8:31 remaining. Kings 3, Panthers 2: In Los Angeles, the home team snapped a five-game losing streak with victory over Florida.
