elect Barack Obama said Friday he will move deliberately on how to respond to Iran and won't do it in a “knee-jerk fashion.” “I am not the president and I won't be until Jan. 20,” he replied when asked at a news conference about what approach he might take with Tehran and what would his response be to a letter of congratulations from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday. Ahmadinejad said in the letter he hopes Obama will “use the opportunity to serve the (American) people and leave a good name for history” during his term in office. It was the first time an Iranian leader has offered such wishes to a US president-elect since the 1979 Revolution.
