The Human Resources Fund will finance employment of 12,000 job-seekers by bearing the training fees and part of their salaries paid by employers, Ahmad Al-Zamil, Director General of the fund, said here on Friday. The fund, he said, has earmarked SR5 billion for this purpose. Al-Zamil called upon those seeking jobs to join the training courses starting Dec. 12. These courses, he said, have been designed to suit the requirements of the labor market. The fund has different training strategies such as on-the-job training which is mainly devoted to unqualified job-seekers. This program, he said, would help them in acquiring training skills. Apprentices will get SR1,500 as a stipend from the fund and SR500 per trainee would be paid to establishments offering these courses. Another type of training is directed at academically qualified job-seekers in their areas of specializations such as banking and insurance and also for those who will be employed by SABIC and Royal Commission. By 2012, the 12,000 job-seekers in accredited professional institutions such as the Institute of Public Administration, King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, the Banking Institute, the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu and other non-profit health institutes would have got the necessary training, he said. The fund would bear the entire training fees besides paying SR1,000 monthly stipend to all trainees. – Okaz/SG __
