Abdulhadi Al-Suwayyan Okaz/Saudi Gazette MADINAH – Several agencies have caused the stalling of the project for employing women in the Haia by not providing it with vacancies, according to General President for the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Haia) Dr. Abdullateef Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh. During a guidance meeting with personnel of the Haia in Madinah late Monday night, Al-Asheikh said, “No vacancies have been provided till now. If we get vacancies, we will employ women.” With Saudi women joining the country's labor force in large numbers, women working for the Haia is not impossible. Supporters of the idea say now is the time to employ women in the Haia while others believe the idea should be extensively studied before a decision is made. Al-Asheikh said the commission does not have an account on social media. It just has a website and an official spokesman. He warned against seditious calls by deviant religious callers, who have misled the sons of the country through their sermons. “The aggression we see today against this country are actually against your religion, lives, wealth and families. We must defend our religion and nation.”
He said the Haia members should hit with an iron fist whoever thinks of changing the thoughts and beliefs of Muslims. “The grouping of enemies and mobilization of the Kharijites (deviants) against this country is harming us all. We should stand united against whoever has deviant inclinations. We should advise and guide all those who have been misled, including callers of sedition and falsehood,” the Haia chief said.
