Abdullah Al-Abdali and Atif Al-Suwaihari Okaz/Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – At least 49 inpatients were evacuated following a fire at King Faisal Hospital in Shisha, Makkah, on Saturday morning. No casualties were reported in the fire that was sparked by a faulty air conditioner at the internal medicine section for women on the second floor of the building. More than a dozen fire-fighting teams from the Civil Defense and Saudi Red Crescent volunteers took part in the rescue and evacuation operation. They managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread to other sections of the hospital. Ali Al-Ghamdi, spokesman of Makkah Red Crescent, said that patients of the hospital were taken to King Abdulaziz Hospital, Al-Nur Specialist Hospital and Hera General Hospital.
