RIYADH — King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has announced the successful launch of a Saudi satellite from Russia's Dombarovsky air base Thursday evening. SaudiSat-4, put into orbit by Ukrainian-designed Dnepr rocket, is the 13th industrial satellite launched by Saudi Arabia. KACST President Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel said in a press statement on Friday that the satellite was intended to carry out a scientific experiment using ultraviolet radiation in space. The experiment was developed by a joint team from KACST and Stanford University, he said.
