The Witness and Martyr exhibition, a celebration of the life of the late King Faisal, has hosted record numbers of visitors with some 14,000 individuals, students and officials passing through its doors over the last three weeks. Morning sessions have seen visitors from schools and official delegations considerably outnumbering those of the exhibition's previous openings in Riyadh and Abha, hosting 572 students from 15 girls' schools in just one day, and last Sunday welcoming 1,000 male students. Mashour Al-Hamyani, exhibition manager, said visitor numbers had increased on Wednesdays and Thursdays to over 1,500, mostly of youths and families. Visitors showed an interest in the life and character of King Faisal. “King Faisal, for many people from Islamic countries, represents Islamic solidarity and the unity of the Islamic Ummah,” said one visitor. “I think the organizers should consider taking the show to other Arab and world capitals.” Businessman Saleh Kamel said his love for the former King took him to the exhibition. “I wanted to find out more about him and his brilliant life and career and how he contributed in all his roles to Islam and Muslims,” Kamel said. Abdullah Muhammad Habhab, head of Al-Thaghr Shools in Jeddah, was visiting with 60 students in tow. “It's a national duty for us and the students to come and see the exhibition and find out more about King Faisal's many feats and achievements,” Habhab said. The exhibition, organized by King Faisal Charitable Foundation, is being held at the Jeddah International Exhibition Center until the last week of November. – Okaz/SG __
