JEDDAH — Saudi authorities have banned the sale of books written by two controversial Islamic scholars, Al-Hayat daily reported. A manager at Jarir Bookstores told Al-Hayat that he received instructions from the Commission of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) to remove the books written by Sheikh Salman Al-Oudah and Sheikh Tariq Al-Suwaidan from their shelves. Based on these instructions, the store stopped selling the books, which he said had been big hits with the public.
