Two men and two women were killed in a car crash during an alleged chase by agents of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Al-Khalil area in Madina, Monday. Three died instantly while the fourth died an hour later in hospital. The four were not identified. Eyewitnesses said that they saw a commission SUV, with two Commission's agents and a police officer inside, following a white Ford until it crashed into a roadside farm with the four people inside. Immediately, the SUV took off from the scene of the crash, they added. An eyewitness said that he waived at the Commission's agents to stop but they ignored him, prompting him to report the incident and the SUV to the police. Another eyewitness confirmed that he saw the Commission SUV at the scene of the accident. A police source said that the eyewitnesses reported seeing the white Toyota SUV at the scene right after the crash, providing its number plate. Chief of Madina Traffic Department Col. Siraj Kamal said that early information and eyewitnesses' accounts suggest the Commission SUV was in hot pursuit of the victims' car. If the information and reports are confirmed, the case will be transferred to concerned authorities, he said. The Madina branch of the Commission has denied any involvement in the alleged chase. Fahd Al-Khidr, acting director of the branch, said in a press statement that the Commission's agents in the SUV happened to see the crash when they were on their way back to the branch after finishing off their duty in the area. “We are still waiting for the final results of the investigation,” he said. Chief of Al-Oyoun Police Department Rabih Al-Harbi said that they have received the case which appears to be classified as criminal. __
