SIEMENS, the global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering operating in the energy, infrastructure, industry and healthcare sectors, showcased a series of new healthcare technologies for Saudi Arabia at the recently held Saudi Health Exhibition and Conference 2014 in Riyadh. Siemens Healthcare is committed to line up behind the Kingdoms strategy in developing a world class healthcare system by providing innovative technologies, state of the art solutions and tailor made training for local healthcare personnel to help millions of Saudis to live healthier lives. To meet these needs Siemens Healthcare is supporting Saudi Arabia in overcoming issues concerning women's health, oncology, cardiovascular care, and knowledge transfer in the Middle East region's largest economy. Siemens has pulled the wraps off a number of innovations in medical imaging which deliver better quality results in shorter periods of time, while reducing radiation dosage and other forms of exposure for patients. Among the healthcare innovations presented at Saudi Health was the company's new CT system - the Somatom Force. This third generation of Dual Source computed tomography enables considerably quicker and more precise diagnoses at reduced doses. Early detection examinations and functional 4D imaging can be conducted using up to 50 percent lower radiation dose. This procedure can now be used on a routine basis and physicians can make quicker and more well-founded decisions as to which tumor therapy to use for the individual in question. Siemens was also demonstrating its Biograph mCT Flow, the first PET/CT scanning device to allow for continuous scanning of a patient by moving them smoothly through the system, rather than taking multiple static images and combining them together. “Together with our Partner E.A. Juffali & Brothers we are putting all our efforts and passion in the sustainable improvement of the Healthcare Sector in the Kingdom. By implementing training and education programs in Saudi Arabia we are clearly demonstrating our commitment to support the countries drive to constantly develop and improve the healthcare services for all citizens,” said Arja Talakar, CEO of Siemens Saudi Arabia. — SG
