Two thousand engineers and skilled laborers are working round-the-clock to complete the SR2.58 billion project of expansion between As-Safa and Al-Marwah by the Nov. 13 deadline, said Al-Sheikh Saleh Abdur Rahman Al-Hussein, Chief of the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. The 3-story Mas'a area, when expanded, is expected to facilitate 118,000 pilgrims in performing Sa'y (moving swiftly between As-Safa and Al-Marwah) in an hour. It means about 3.8 million pilgrims will be able to perform Sa'y in 24 hours. After the expansion is completed, the Mas'a area will be 87,000 square meters as against 29,400 square meters before the project was launched. Al-Hussein said only a small amount of work remains on the second floor of the Grand Mosque. He hoped that the project will be completed well before the deadline. – SG __
