Four Bangladeshis have confessed to beating to death a Yemeni over a shoe. The incident occurred last week in Thawl when the victim's shoe disappeared prompting him to question his Bangladeshi roommate. A heated discussion ensued and the Bangladeshi sought the help of three of his countrymen who attacked the Yemeni, forced him out of his room and beat him to death. The four Bangladeshis fled the scene leaving him in a pool of blood. A friend of the Yemeni took him to hospital, but efforts to save him were in vain. Police suspicions soon fell on a worker who had been absent from work without explanation. Information was received concerning the whereabouts of the suspect, and police cordoned off the house in Thawl where he was said to be hiding. Three of the four were detained and they revealed the whereabouts of the fourth, who was duly arrested. Colonel Misfir Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah Police, said all four culprits had admitted guilt. – Okaz __
