Oman Air brand envelops London's iconic black cabs
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 05 - 2014

Oman Air has launched a major advertising campaign that sees the airline's brand enveloping some of London's iconic ‘black' cabs. For the next 12 months, 12 traditional London taxis will feature stunning images of the Sultanate of Oman and four of the airline's most beautiful onward destinations.
The taxi campaign aims to generate greater awareness of Oman Air, the multi-award winning national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, and the many stunning destinations it flies to, including the Sultanate itself.
Painted in the distinctive turquoise of the airline's corporate identity, each cab features one of four striking images of Oman on one side, together with photographs of one of four beautiful locations — Sri Lanka, Maldives, Thailand or India — on the other side. In addition, Oman Air-branded taxi receipts are handed out to customers to complete the advertising exercise.
As the only airline to fly daily, non-stop from London Heathrow to Muscat, Oman, this is the first time the airline has undertaken a taxi advertising campaign of this scale in the city.
Acting Country Manager, UK and Ireland, Jamal Al Azki said: “The quintessentially British black cab provides the perfect platform to promote the Oman Air brand in a unique and dynamic way. Londoners are keen travellers and the city also attracts huge numbers of visitors every year. We are confident that the taxis will become a talking point and will generate interest in visiting Oman, with its breath-taking landscapes and unparalleled hospitality.
“Alternatively, we are encouraging visitors to stop over in Oman to experience the best of Arabian hospitality, before flying on in comfort and luxury to one of our many other beautiful destinations.”
Oman Air is the only airline to fly daily, non-stop between the UK and Oman, with onward daily or double-daily flights to ten destinations in India and regular services to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo (Sri Lanka), the Maldives, Kathmandu, Zanzibar and three destinations in Pakistan. The airline also offers further regular services from the Omani capital of Muscat to a range of destinations across the Middle East, South Asia, East Africa and Europe. – SG
