MILWAUKEE — Right-hander Masahiro Tanaka struck out seven and third baseman Yangervis Solarte hit a three-run homer as the New York Yankees beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-3 in an Inter-League game. Tanaka scattered seven hits and a walk in 6-1/3 innings. He improved to 5-0 in his rookie season with the Yankees and has not lost in his past 42 regular season starts in Japan and MLB. He allowed a leadoff walk to center fielder Carlos Gomez but retired 15 of his next 17 batters before running out of gas in the seventh. White Sox 9, Diamondbacks 3: Alexei Ramirez had a grand slam during a seven-run fourth inning and Jose Abreu added a huge blast of his own as the Chicago White Sox beat the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks. American League Orioles 4, Astros 3: Jonathan Schoop had a two-out RBI single in the seventh to a break a 2-2 tie as the Baltimore Orioles won at home against the Houston Astros. Baltimore starter Wei-Yin Chen (4-2), who gave up two runs in seven innings before turning the game over to the bullpen, got the win, while Tommy Hunter recorded his league-leading 11th save despite giving up a run in the ninth. Angels 4, Blue Jays 3: Designated hitter Raul Ibanez hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning as the Los Angeles Angels won on the road and ended the Blue Jays' five-game winning streak.
