Gov't must treat coronavirus as a major threat

I am writing with regard to the article “Health Ministry to launch awareness drive against deadly coronavirus” (May 3). Although the virus apparently originated in Saudi Arabia, it is now starting to spread around the world and this can hardly be called a surprise. Even though the number of casualties is still relatively small, the spreading of the coronavirus is worrisome and once its starts to mutate it could get out of control quickly. With Ramadan around the corner, this is now turning into a very serious threat and I would like to see the Saudi government treat it as such.
