Othman, Director of King Saud University, has said that the university's Center for Youth Research (CYR) is considering implementing drug tests for the university's students and teaching staff. Dr. Al-Othman, speaking during the inauguration of the Dr. Nasir Al-Rasheed Anti-Narcotics Program at the National Committee to Combat Drugs, said the measure was commonly applied in advanced countries and renowned universities, and that the CYR was studying the issue with health faculties and expected it to be approved. Ahmad Al-Salim, undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, said that drug use had decreased but that its eradication required the involvement of all parties and would not happen through the efforts of security services alone. After the launching of the program, Al-Othman and Al-Salim opened the Advice and Addiction Center, and 52 persons from the Ministries of Education and Social Affairs took part in an anti-narcotics training course. – Okaz __
