RIYADH – Earlier this week, several Twitter users faced hacking of the accounts of their favorite stars and companions. This cast doubts on the company's ability to protect them, as some of the victims of hacking were not protected by authentication of their accounts, Makkah daily reported. Twitter users were shaken following the hacking of the two accounts of the Chairman of Al-Hilal Club, Prince Abdulrahman Bin Musaed and Chairman of Al-Nassr Club, Prince Faisal Bin Turki. The main question is: “How were these accounts hacked despite authenticating them Twitter's official account?” At this point, specialists confirmed that this measure does not protect the account owner from hackers and other curious people. The only solution to this problem is taking the following precautions which will prevent hackers from hacking your accounts: Select a password comprised of both letters and numbers. The letters can be lower or upper case, for example: MakKAh183540.
1. Avoid having a unified password for all your social media accounts and other related e-mails. 2. Protect the e-mail linked to your Twitter account with a difficult password, as most of the times, hacking takes place through your e-mail when the hacker demands changing the password through your e-mail. 3. It is preferable to verify your password with two steps through the settings. This way, your account will be linked to your telephone number. When requesting entry to your account, a temporary secret code will be sent to your telephone giving you access to the site. 4. You are also advised to go to settings, select applications and make sure that no application with an unknown source is linked to your account 5. Last but not least, the most important advice is not to open any unknown links or untrustworthy accounts on Twitter.
