King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has appreciated the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Labor to reduce the rate of unemployment and to recruit citizens in line with the directives pertaining to the recruitment of the citizens. The King's remarks were made in a cable of reply to Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, the Minister of Labor, who had sent a message earlier to the King. In his message, Dr. Al-Gosaibi said the rate of unemployment has dropped significantly. The message said the rate of unemployment for males dropped from 8 percent to 6.9 percent, while the unemployment of females dropped from 26.6 to 24.9 percent. Accordingly, the number of the unemployed Saudis – males and females – dropped from 453,994 to 400,019, the message said.
