Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 10 - 2008

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, launched its most advanced Blu-ray players BD-P1500 and BD-P2500 at Gitex technology Week 2008. Samsung hopes to reinforce its leadership in the field of premium entertainment devices through the release of the new players.
“Samsung recognises that the market for high-definition players is growing exponentially and that consumers in this category want to push the quality of their home viewing experience to rival that of a true theater experience,” said BJ Kim, general manager, AV Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics. “The introduction of our newest line of DVD and Blu-ray players signals to consumers that the home viewing experience will come with a more striking look, a clearer sound, more stunning colour and easier connectivity than ever before. Our recent advances have enabled consumers to experience the clarity of a Hollywood-quality presentation in the comfort of their own homes, a move that sets a new standard for the industry.”
The new BD-P2500 provides a significant upgrade from previous models with several new key features designed to enhance the premium audio and visual experience. The new high glossy black new player complements any stylish interior and perfectly fits with Samsung's HD TVs.
Samsung's BD-P2500 is the fifth generation Blu-ray player equipped with industry leading image processor HQV (Hollywood Quality Video). With the HQV processor, the BD-P2500 offers increased picture quality by refining image projection, even from non Blu-ray formats.
The new player responds to consumers' demand for more connectivity and superior functionality. The BD-P2500 will be kept updated by detecting the newest firmware automatically from a Samsung server. Users can access and easily update to the latest Blu-ray profile by Ethernet or USB port.
The BD-P2500 also includes USB 2.0 support and 1 gigabyte of embedded flash memory.
Samsung BD-P1500, with full high definition 1080p resolution, provides incredibly detailed images with brilliant colour in full high definition 1080p resolution. Amazing picture quality isn't the only benefit. This Blu-ray disc player comes with Samsung's Anynet+ technology which lets the user control all Samsung AV devices from just one remote. The BD-P1500 lets the user have it all - watch his favorite DVDs and Blu-ray discs or listen to CDs with the highest
