Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said the Arab peace initiative for the Middle East, which was presented by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and adopted by the Beirut Arab summit in 2002, is very clear and has no ambiguity. He said that the Arabs cannot negotiate for another 10 years as Israel is trying to do. He said that everything is clear and specific according to international agreements and resolutions (land and withdrawal in return for peace and normalization). Speaking to Okaz, Moussa said that the Arab initiative does not need any amendment or interpretation. “Whoever wants real peace based on justice, balance, rights and commitments should just accept it. No beating around the bush or running around in cirles,” he said. Moussa said it is comprehensive and speaks of normal relations and cooperation in all fields after reaching a comprehensive settlement and establishing peace, but not before that; according to the text of the initiative and not according to what Israel wants. If there are any proposed negotiations between Israel and the Arabs, they should be on how to implement this initiative and not on its text with the aim of circumventing or amending it. He said that the borders that the Israeli president spoke about is one of the issues that will be decided through negotiations. Moussa reiterated the Arabs' readiness to establish comprehensive peace with Israel according to the UN Security Council resolutions and the principle of land for peace according to which the peace process started since the Madrid Conference. – Okaz __
