HAIL — A technical fault in the tires of a Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) aircraft on a flight from Jeddah to Hail on Thursday would have ended in a catastrophe had it not been for the quick thinking and expertise of the pilot who was able to land at a tilted angle. There were 108 passengers and crew members aboard. Air traffic controllers told the pilot that several tires were functioning so he made the decision to land the plane. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) kept the aircraft at Hail airport and sent in another to take the passengers to their destinations after a delay of about four hours.
