An error by shortstop Alex Gonzalez brought in the fifth run of the inning to make it 7-6, but right fielder Nelson Cruz struck out on a 3-and-2 slider and first baseman Chris Davis popped out to left as Joe Nathan earned his first save with Detroit. Twins 7, Indians 3: Brian Dozier hit the second pitch of the game out of the park and starter Kyle Gibson pitched five solid innings to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 7-3 road victory over the Cleveland Indians.
