JEDDAH – Bahri (the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia), announced the arrival of ‘Bahri Trader' on Monday, the latest vessel to be constructed and delivered by Oshima shipyard in Japan to Bahri Dry Bulk (BDB), a strategic business unit of Bahri. This completes the new building order of 5 dry bulk ships contracted in 2012. Bahri Dry Bulk is a joint venture between Bahri (60 percent) and ARASCO (40 percent) the largest grain importer of KSA. ‘Bahri Trader' with a capacity of 82,000 dead weight tons and length of 229 meters is part of BDB's fleet of eco-friendly and fuel efficient vessels. This vessel has been chartered to ARASCO on a long-term basis similar to the other 4 sister ships. These vessels will serve the nations demand for grain imports from across the world. Bahri ranks amongst renowned international maritime conglomerates with a fleet of 52 ships which includes General Cargo carriers, Oil Tankers (VLCC's), Chemical Carriers and Dry Bulkers including one general cargo ship scheduled for delivery in April 2014.
