Hurricanes edge Crusaders 29-26

CHRISTCHURCH — The Hurricanes squandered leads in both halves before a late, bonus-point try to winger Alapati Leiua clinched a 29-26 win over the Crusaders in Super Rugby Friday. The underdog Hurricanes shocked the Crusaders with two tries to lead 17-3 after 20 minutes, but saw that lead evaporate when a double to winger Johnny McNicholl lifted the Crusades to an 18-17 lead at halftime. In Melbourne, the last-place Melbourne Rebels ended a three-match losing streak to beat Australian conference leader ACT 32-24, stopping the Brumbies' four-game winning run in Super Rugby also Friday.
