SYDNEY — Sydney FC forward Alessandro Del Piero has been told he can't wear a captain's armband bearing the logo of his clothing line because it breaches A-League regulations. Local media reported Friday that Sydney, which made Del Piero captain this season, was notified by Football Federation Australia that the 2006 World Cup winner with Italy was using the armband for possible promotional purposes. The armband displays his company's image and replicas are sold through his online store. As with the EPL, the A-League has rules that standardize captains' armbands and prevent players from wearing custom designs. – AP
