A primary schoolteacher dropped dead in the classroom to the horror of his pupils. Jameel Gadi, a 45-year-old first grade teacher at Al-Safa Primary School, experienced chest pain on the morning of his death, but ignored the advice of the school principal to visit a doctor, instead insisting on taking his class. Principal Abdul Rahman Mahmoud said he had spoken to Gadi in the morning when he found him sitting on a chair in his class “looking pale and exhausted.” He advised him to see a doctor, but Gadi “refused to go until he had given his lesson.” “The moment I left the class I heard the boys shouting,” Mahmoud said. “I rushed back into the class and found Jameel on the ground.” Gadi was taken to Al-Jadani Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Colleagues Assad Abass, Ibrahim Seraj and Abdul Razek Bafart described his death as “a great loss to his students. He was a sincere and dedicated teacher who breathed his last while teaching them.” – Okaz __
