MELBOURNE — Former Middlesbrough striker Lee Dong-gook scored second-half goals four minutes apart to help South Korean club Jeonbuk Motors draw 2-2 with the Melbourne Victory in the Asian Champions League Wednesday. Host Sepahan of Iran roared from behind in the second half to upset Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia 3-2. Trailing 1-2 in the first session the Iranians leveled midway through the second session through Mahdi Sharti and clinched the winner in the 90th minute through Xhevahir Sukaj. After Ervin Bulku put Sephan ahead, Segundo Castillo and Thiago Neves struck in that order to hand Hilal a 2-1 half-time lead. Jeonbuk has a win and a draw in its opening matches, while the A-League's Victory picked up its first points after an opening loss. Nick Ansell scored a first-half header to give Melbourne the lead, then needed Kosta Barbarouses' goal between the legs of Jeonbuk goalkeeper Choi Eun-sung with 10 minutes remaining for the draw. In the other Group G match, Yokohama Marinos of Japan and defending champion Guangzhou Evergrande drew 1-1, leaving Jeonbuk and Marcello Lippi's Guangzhou side co-leading the group. Striker Jin Hanato gave Yokohama the lead in the 21st minute before attacking midfielder Alessandro Diamanti leveled for Guangzhou just before halftime. Diamanti scored twice in his side's come-from-behind win over the Victory two weeks ago. In Group H, South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai remained perfect and in first place after two matches with a 2-0 home win over Kawasaki Frontale of Japan. Ralph Krueger, who has just returned from the Sochi Olympics where he helped Team Canada win the gold medal, takes over the role vacated by Nicola Cortese in January. The 54-year-old Canadian-born German coached the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL during the 2012-13 season, and the Swiss national team from the 1997-98 season through to the end of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
