The Mayor of Jeddah Dr. Hani Abu Ras officially opened The Big 5 Saudi 2014 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums & Events Sunday. Taking place from 9-12 March 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. daily, the event is held under the patronage of Prince Mansour Bin Mutaib Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs. This is the fourth year that the largest building and construction event will run in Jeddah, with more than 500 exhibiting companies from 35 countries. The Big 5 Saudi has now grown to encompass the entire space at the exhibition center, as well as a specially constructed arena to meet participant demand. Exhibitors showcase the latest products and technologies to support the more efficient and sustainable construction drive by the Kingdom. Visitors attending the show will gain knowledge from the new and free to attend two-day seminar Series. The education event delivers sessions on a range of hot industry topics, with local, regional and international experts providing their insights and best practice examples. Educational opportunities also include four onsite workshops, covering asset maintenance, concrete repair, project management and an introduction to LEED version four. — SG
