With regard to "Smoking statistic in KSA" (Mar. 4), the infographic shows that Saudi Arabia imports 56,000 tons of tobacco each year. Monetary figures should also have been given. It is a well-known fact that cigarette smoking is a health hazard causing cancer, asthma, TB, etc. Additionally it is a sheer waste of money. Money and health are blessings from Allah and not to be wasted as we are all accountable to Allah. Some efforts at the government, society, and school level and by religious leaders would contribute to reducing and stopping smoking and its consequential loss of money and health.
