This refers to the article “No satisfaction at the Rolling Stones live in Abu Dhabi” by Mohammed Alshoaiby (March 2). Sorry, you probably saw the band in the wrong location. But I think you are right that rock and roll is best played to the struggling masses because they can identify with it. Not to the fortunate few who have never been broke and hungry. See if you can catch a gig in England or the United States. Cheers! Andy, Online response II. Too bad, you chose to cover a Rolling Stones concert in Abu Dhabi, a place renowned for big corporations, and then whine because businessmen did not show up? What did you expect? A real music lover doesn't care about the crowd. Let the band worry about that. Ben, Online response III. An interesting perspective. Just one piece of feedback, the band Fleetwood Mac is still going. It was planning to tour last year, until John McVie (the bassist) was diagnosed with cancer in October. Shanti Clements IV. Really? Does it make that much of a difference? I mean a location of a gig really makes a difference in the performance of a band? A band should give a good performance whoever is watching. Nader Alfassam, Online response V. I have to correct you on your view that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are sitting in their mansions while the Rolling Stones never gave up performing. Since 1999, the Stones toured four times. Since 1999, Paul McCartney has toured 12 times, giving 268 concerts. While the Stones plays for about two hours, McCartney plays a setlist that lasts three hours! As for Ringo, he has had seven tours since 1999 with his All-Starr Band and he is currently on tour. His concerts last about two hours. Not lazy! Ralph, Online response
