The BJP in Andhra Pradesh is unhappy with the arrests of its workers in Bhainsa town of Adilabad district in connection with the last week's riots in Bhainsa. State BJP President Bandaru Dattareya has issued a warning that the BJP will lay a siege to the office of the director general of police to protest against the arrest of the party workers. Dattatreya met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Saturday in Hyderabad and submitted him a memorandum demanding the arrest of the real culprits responsible for the communal riots. He urged the Chief Minister to ensure independent and impartial inquiry in to the riots. The BJP has alleged that acting under the pressure of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), the police were arresting the BJP workers in connection the riots. The state Home Minister K Jana Reddy on the other hand said that some activists of Hindu Vahini and Bajrang Dal were arrested in connection with the communal violence and attack on shops and houses. A three member committee of the state BJP after visiting Bhainsa and Vatoli village, where ten people died in violence, alleged that the riots broke out after the Durga procession was stoned from a mosque. The committee blamed Pakistani secret service ISI for burning six people in Vatoli village. Meanwhile, curfew continued for the 9th consecutive day today in Bhainsa townm though no violence or untoward incident was reported during the last one week. The decision to continue the curfew was taken on the basis of assessment of police officials that if the curfew was lifted totally, the miscreants may try to take advantage of the tension. The curfew was relaxed for two hours in the morning to enable the people to purchase the essential commodities. But the poor laborers, dependent on their daily wages are in a pathetic condition as they could not earn their living for the past 8 days. In a move to restore the confidence among the masses the officials and elected representatives today held a peace march in the town. __
