MADINAH – Two members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia) were attacked by unidentified men while carrying out their duty, said Haia's Madinah branch spokesman Sultan Al-Mutairi. The members found a girl with an unrelated young man outside a shopping mall in Madinah and took them into custody. They forced the girl to sign an undertaking not to repeat the offense at the Haia office and called her father to come and pick her up. Two people, one of whom claimed he was the girl's father, came to the Haia office, got into a heated argument with the Haia members and forcibly freed the girl. The Haia officers called police, who arrested all three men and referred them to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.
