I admire Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi for his concern to address the Kashmir issue in its original historical context in his article "Solidarity with people of Kashmir" (Feb. 12). International politics and policies are very cruel; they solve the Sudan problem in less time but can't put pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir issue over the last 60 years because in the Kashmir case the beneficiaries are Kashmiries (Muslims) and the non-Muslim state is at the losing end. May Allah help Muslims across the world and empower them to fight against such injustices. Peace Lover, Online response II. The author is either misinformed or conveniently forgets historical truth. It was true that there was a UN resolution for a plebiscite. But this was before the invasion of Kashmir by tribal people from across the border and their forcible occupation of what is now Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. For a plebiscite to happen, it should revert to the original state when the UN resolution was issued. No point in harping on history. It is time to move forward. Truth seeker, Online response III. The two-nation theory was invented by the British as part of their divide-and-rule policy. Long before they colonized India, Muslims and Hindus were living together as brothers. The poison was sowed by the British. By the way, why can't the author leave history to the past and look forward for peaceful living among neighbors? A lot of water has flown in the Yamuna since 1947 and the youths in both countries want a better future instead of talking endlessly about a bygone past. Vijay, Online response
