RIYADH – Saudi TV announced the debut of one of the most revered television cooking shows in the world, MasterChef Arabia, which will begin airing this February. Ambitious amateur cooks from all over the Kingdom will compete in a series of grueling challenges for the once in a lifetime opportunity to win the grand MasterChef Arabia title. MasterChef Arabia is the first of its kind in the Middle East, where contestants will be judged on the taste and quality of the dishes they produce. The program has set up the largest integrated kitchen of its kind, the MasterChef Kitchen, where the contestants will put their culinary skills to use. Through a series of challenges and contests, the contestants will be taken on a culinary adventure. They will receive commentary and critique from a panel of three judges, all Saudi experts in their own right. Week after week, the panel of judges will cut out the fat, allowing those with real skill to progress further. The show, which has now been produced in more than 40 countries and airs in over 200 territories taps into a global appetite for watching regular people take part in an extraordinary journey to fulfill their dreams. The show will air twice a week on Saudi TV, allowing the viewers to follow the contestants' riveting journeys and see who will live to cook another day. After each episode, at least one contestant is eliminated from the show, forcing the number of contestants to dwindle down, until only one is left standing with the title of MasterChef Arabia. — SG
