INNSBRUCK, Austria — The Austrian ski federation says Hannes Reichelt has been ruled out of the Sochi Olympics because of a back injury, two days after the Austrian won the classic World Cup downhill in Kitzbuehel. The federation says Reichelt has a herniated disk. The 33-year-old Austrian will undergo surgery in Innsbruck later Monday and has to end his season prematurely. In the federation's statement, Reichelt is quoted as saying: “Surgery is unavoidable. Health comes in first place and I want to keep doing sports after my career. Unfortunately my Olympic dream is in shatters.” Reichelt is the only Austrian skier to win a downhill this season. — AP
