Labor prosecutors will receive their first training session on Saturday to develop professional values and legal skills for labor disputes to be heard at the recently-inaugurated labor commissions. The Deputy Minister of Labor for Workers' Affairs said that prosecutors will be trained to look objectively into labor disputes and violations reported by labor inspection teams tasked with inspecting labor environments and working conditions. The training aims to provide prosecutors with the legal knowledge to issue verdicts in labor cases as stipulated by Article 214 of the Kingdom's Labor Law in the Kingdom. The Ministry hopes to establish a commission in every governorate in the Kingdom to make it easier for workers to proceed with labor disputes. Diplomats from Asian countries had previously called for separate labor courts to hear expatriate worker cases in the country. Labor cases filed by a worker with the General Court previously took months or even years for a decision to be reached. – Okaz __
