Since November 4, 2013, I have not heard of any Saudis arrested for employing illegal expats even though it was announced earlier that any sponsor who employed illegal expats could be given a prison sentence and fined a maximum of SR100,000. Chairil Anhar Siregar
Those stupid people are still in Saudi Arabia without an iqama. The Saudi government is doing a wonderful job by giving a lot of time to people to change their profession and transfer to other sponsors as per their skills Atif Khan
Atif, please remember that these people came here legally in the first place. They aren't stupid; they have been taken advantage of by their greedy sponsors. My heart goes out to these people whose only goal is to provide for their families back home. So until you walk in their shoes do not refer to them as stupid! Nadiyah Sulaiman Nadiyah, I agree with your statement that people came here legally, but now the government is making a system for everyone to become legal, so I simply said that they should benefit from it. If someone asks them for a huge amount of money in order to transfer their iqama, they should complain to the authorities. It has already been published in the newspaper not to give money to sponsors for a transfer. Well, we all have the choice to live here by following the system or to leave.
