I would like to request the concerned officials at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to take the necessary steps to make it mandatory for both Saudi Arabian Airlines and Nas Air to operate extra flights on domestic routes between all major cities, Jeddah and Riyadh in particular, during holiday seasons to avoid the chaos that we have seen in Riyadh and Dammam airports recently. Passengers with unconfirmed booking have had to wait for several hours unsuccessfully at the airport after being registered on the waiting list only to finally be forced to return to the city to find alternate ways to reach their destination. Those most affected are children, women and handicapped passengers who remain stranded at the airport due to the very busy schedules of airlines. In addition to introducing extra flights, if possible, Saudia should also accommodate these passengers on international flights arriving in Riyadh/Dammam for a stopover to carry them on their onward journey to their respective destinations. A little precaution and a timely plan before school holidays will definitely save a lot of hardship for all passengers. Shaikh Maqbool Ahmed
