JEDDAH — The municipality in Jeddah has tendered a project to clear debris from demolished buildings. The debris is from buildings whose owners are not known. According to studies, the quantity of debris is estimated at 5 million cubic meters and will take over 1,000 days to clear. A spokesman for Jeddah Municipality said some excavation contractors do not clear the debris from construction sites even though they are obliged to do so.
