UAE team continued its brilliant show in the 4th Arab Bowling Championship after winning the gold medal in the trio category at the Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh on Wednesday. The team which comprises Hassan Al-Swaidi, Naif Eqab and Shaker Ali topped the ranking after registering a total of 3,994 points. Shaker Ali, however, had earlier won the individual gold medal on the first day of the championship that kicked off last Sunday. Bahrain won the trio silver through Ahmed Rahimi, Osama Khalfan and Ahmed Al-Bostaki. Bahrain ended second with 3,744 points while Kuwait took the bronze with 3,732 points. The championship manager Mishari Al-Subaih crowned the winner with the prizes in a ceremony held at the championship avenue. UAE tops the standing with two gold medals, one silver and a bronze while Kuwait comes second with one gold, a sliver and a bronze. Host Saudi Arabia failed to record any victory despite spending more than a month in preparing for the championship. Earlier on Tuesday, Kuwait topped the doubles category and won the gold after Salem Al-Hajras and his teammate Mohammed Al-Rajeh came on top with a total of 2,664 points. Qatar came second while the bronze medal went to the UAE which registered 2,625. The championship will conclude its rounds on Friday at the Universal Bowling Center where Prince Abdul Hakaim Bin Mesa'ed will crown the winning teams and players on behalf of Prince Sultan Bin Fahd, President of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW). Prince Sultan received on Wednesday at his office in Riyadh the delegation of the nine participating teams in the competition headed by Egyptian Hanadi Mahmoud who is the Chairman of the Arab Bowling Federation. During the meeting, Prince Sultan highlighted the efforts played by the Arab Bowling Federation to develop the game in the Arab region and hailed the achievement recorded by Arab players during the international events. __
