With regard to the article “Unemployed Saudis” (Jan. 10), it is probably only human nature, but all Saudis seem to want to be managers and CEOs. But we all lack guidance on how to achieve these positions. Just by getting a US/UK degree does not qualify us to be managers. It is time to ask if US and UK universities are providing what is required for the Saudi market or if they are just passing Saudi students with good marks in order to attract more students to fill their bank accounts with Saudi money. M. Khan, Online response II. Saudi Arabia needs a skills training program for its youth. The program should be for four years and after that there should be a certification procedure. The salaries should set high to encourage youth to become journeymen with certified skills, such as electricians, mechanics, machinists, plumbers, welders, etc. The government cannot afford to put every Saudi in an office. Also, all students should wear uniforms at school. When applying for work, one should look ready. XZaky, Online response III. To all the guys looking for job out there, make sure that you browse some YouTube videos, refer to websites where job interviews and FAQ are posted, study the nature of the job and industry you are applying for, and acquire some knowledge on that subject before you attend an interview. Be confident and show that you are passionate about the new opportunity on offer and let everyone know that you want to give your best to it. Be ready to learn from anyone who is ready to share knowledge with you. Have faith in Allah and seek your parents blessing. SSA, Online response
