Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 01 - 2014

The headline says it all. Oberoi is and qualifies to be your first love, even if you start now. As a child, the first hotel, that makes you feel at home, makes you feel like you want to come back for more and live in the middle of loving pampered luxury, Oberoi triumphs over all competition.
When you have dreams about their pillows and stealing them can pass your mind like an uninterrupted childlike repeated thought, you know you are addicted to that mutual loving entity. Lucky for us, Oberoi is opening up its venues across the globe. Most recently, one in Dubai. Guaranteed this displays favouritism for the leisure business travellers, rumours are there is a resort launching soon. First things first, Oberoi gives you a firsthand experience of first class service. To them, above all, it seems that service is everything. One of the staff members told Saudi Gazette that the Executive Chairman is famous for saying the devil is in the details. When asked what could be the key to such high standard of personalized service, they said one of his more popular saying is reported to be, “People are our strength. We look after them so they can look after our guests.” The chairman is reported to have said, “It's not about how fast you can serve a cup of coffee or in less than three minutes, it is about serving it with a thin warm smile.” The official said, “It is because the team takes pride in their work and have passion and the joy of working.
This makes serving our customers an enjoyable experience.” With 252 rooms and suites, the hotel is situated a few minutes from Dubai Mall and the Financial Centre. Oberoi Spa and Wellness Centre at The Oberoi, is one of the only twenty-four hour Spa's in Dubai. The spa menu offers a range of body and revitalising beauty treatments. These include the famous Indian Ayurveda treatments, Classical Swedish, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, Balinese and Thai massages. The menu features a range of massages, exotic body scrubs, floral baths and beauty treatments. It comprises of seven therapy rooms, each offering a private treatment and relaxation area, an en-suite steam shower and personal washroom. You can also indulge in the ancient art of yoga on the yoga deck with their resident yoga specialist close to the outdoor pool.
The five-star Oberoi Group operates 29 hotels, a Nile Cruiser and a Motor Vessel in the backwaters of Kerala in India. It also operates under the five-star ‘Trident' brand in Jeddah. Of course few of the most celebrated and respected Oberoi properties in the world are The Oberoi Vanyavilas, The Oberoi Udaivilas and The Oberoi, Mauritius among others.
Travel + Leisure, World's Best Awards, in the Readers' Survey 2011, has rated Oberoi amongst the Top 25 City Hotels in Asia. DestinAsian Readers' Choice Awards 2011 named it the Best Hotel in New Delhi.Oberoi, the brand, has consistently been recognized as amongst the best in the world. Try and overlook the minimalistic approach this time, past the lobby till your room. Used to the luxury appeal, this contemporary affair rings in a strange new vibe. If you are getting the Premier luxury suite, you know you have the best view in the city. With a terrace with sunbeds and dining space, you can have you butler set up your breakfast against the stunning views of the city within the comfort of what you want your new luxury home to be. If you are a fan of Indian food, be assured you can find the most satisfactory evening waiting for you at Ananta. It is hard to find the right mix and flavor of traditional cuisine in a multinational city. But Ananta is a secure option for families, friends or corporates who want to enjoy the true flavors of Indian cuisine. Among others, Oberoi has UMAI, a contemporary Pan Asian restaurant, NINE7ONE, an all day dining restaurant, which offers a variety of world cuisine dishes thanks to executive Chef Dirk Haltenhof. The Oberoi Group is famous for flight catering, managing airport restaurants, even for the corporate air charters. The 5,600 square feet Grand Hall Ballroom at The Oberoi, is painted with shades of gold and red, carpets from Saudi Arabia and chandeliers from the Czech Republic, all accentuating glamour. The ballroom can reportedly accommodate 400 in theatre style, 250 in clusters and 600 free standing. With unbelievable views from their rooms of the Burj Khalifa, the location at Business Bay makes a lot more sense. Considering the size of the tallest building in the world, it is quite a baffling experience to soak in the grandeur in one view. Personal experiences count for everything. It is safe to say you can embrace Oberoi as family. Chances are it will become a routine that you would want to commit yourself to. At Oberoi, you get what you want. And you also get above and beyond.
