The National Human Rights Commission has proposed the establishment of human rights centers in prisons, detention centers and universities similar to that of the Ministry of Health which supervises patients' rights. Dr. Meflih Al-Qahtani, Commission's Deputy Chairman, hopes to see government agencies work with the public to establish rights centers in jails. Dr. Abdul Jaleel Aal-Saif, commission supervisor in the Eastern Province, said the rights body has so far helped in the out-of-court settlement of 12,000 family cases, and has paid more than 15 visits to prisons, correction facilities and social centers in the region. – Okaz __
