Sikti of Bahrain claimed a record on Monday in the 4th Arab Bowling Championship by registering a perfect 300 during the second day of the championship that is being held at the Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh. Egyptian Hanafi Mahmoud, Chairman of the Arab Bowling Federation said that Al-Sikti's record is a great example of the development that has occurred in the game in the Arab region. He expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the nine Arab teams that participate in the championship and he expects more great results in the remaining rounds. The organizing committee of the championship has crowned on Monday the winners of the individual category with the three medals. On the first day of the 8-day championship Shaker Ali of United Arab Emirates won the first gold medal after recording 1,273 points in the individual category while Khaled Al-Debian of Kuwait came second with 1,259 points to bag the silver medal. The bronze medal went to UAE's Hussain Al-Swaidi (1,251). About 50 players representing nine Arab countries are participating in the championship. All GCC countries are intensifying their efforts to win medals ahead of the Gulf Bowling Championship which is scheduled to be held in Kuwait this month. __
