King Abdullah on Monday laid the foundation stone for the national mega power project in Madina and the third phase of the Yanbu-Medina water desalination plant. During the inauguration of the two projects in Madina, totally worth SR 8.9 billion, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques addressed the workers on site through a live television link, thanking them for their efforts. The national mega power network connecting all the regions of the Kingdom costs SR6 billion while the desalination plant, which is expected to provide Madina with potable water for the next 21 years, costs SR2.9 billion. – Okaz __
