An Ethiopian was recently detained in Taif's Aziziah District with a suspiciously large amount of money in his possession. The illegal alien admitted to purchasing a forged Iqama (residency permit) for SR5,000 three years ago. The forged permit had, he said, enabled him to obtain work in several places. In Dammam, three Bangladeshi cleaners were arrested for robbing the house of an old man in Olayah District and stealing SR30,000. The police found no signs of a break-in, a fact which led to suspicions falling on the Bangladeshis employed to clean the house. Investigations are under way to discover the extent of the suspects' previous criminal activities, said Colonel Yousuf Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the Eastern Province Police. Police in Dammam are searching for a Sri Lankan driver who disappeared with his truck-load of milk that was destined for Riyadh. They are also on the look-out for a Filipina housemaid who stole money and jewelry from her sponsor's house. – Okaz __
