After nearly 17 years in Abha on the run from the law, Abdullah Mohammad Mojaddadi has returned to his home city of Madina acquitted of all charges pending against him. Al-Mojaddadi's story began in 1987 when he took the director and the supervisor of a Waqf (endowment property) located in Madina's Central Zone to court accusing them of dishonesty and the director of the forgery of a signature and embezzlement with the intention of using waqf property for personal gain. His case, after being looked into by a Shariah Court judge in Madina, was passed on to the Counterfeit and Forgery Division before being dismissed. Al-Mojaddadi then filed a series of lawsuits against the Madina judge and others accusing them of negligence and willful disregard in his case. He filed further lawsuits against investigation officials in the Madina Police, the Civil Rights Administration and others. After these cases were in turn dismissed, the Prosecutor General demanded Al-Mojaddadi be punished, although an Abha court disagreed. Al-Mojaddadi fled Madina in 1992 after being summoned to a hearing for a case brought against him by the Prosecutor General, charging him with wasting government time and filing 24 baseless lawsuits against several individuals and groups. Finally, a court in Abha dismissed all charges brought against Al-Mojaddadi, enabling him to return home free from the threat of litigation. – Okaz __
