Saudi cities may soon feel healthier when factories causing pollution and health hazards located in the cities will be shut down. Factories with noxious emissions will be relocated outside the city limits. No factory will be granted exception even if it is going out of business, said a source at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs. The city of Khobar in the Eastern Province has started implementing the new law by relocating a number of factories from the city to a zoned area outside the city limits, said Essam Al-Mullah, Director of Khobar Municipality.
