African theft suspects arrested in Jeddah

Jeddah Police have arrested five African nationals aged between 16 and 21 accused of burglary, car theft, impersonating police officers, pickpocketing and snatching purses and mobile telephones while passing victims on motorcycles.
The group was apprehended after the ringleader was nabbed in an ambush, and subsequently confessed and gave police details of his colleagues.
Jeddah Police spokesman Colonel Misfer Al-Jo'aid said investigations were under way to discover the extent of the gang's criminal activities. – Okaz __
